CAI clearance issue

CAI clearance issue
I bought a C&L Racer CAI with the plastic inlet around 6 months ago but I just started realizing that when I close the hood it has to be forced down to close because its hitting the CAI and since it hits the casing around the CAI filter it loosens the connection between the inlet tube and the throttle body. Any suggestions on what I can do to make it fit?

Are you sure it's fully secured? Your CAI shouldn't be wiggling free.
When I had my dad install my CAI (I was unable to get out of bed), he must of slammed the the hood on the shield because a piece is chipped. I found the piece but never glued it back on and now I don't know where it is.. and is bothering me now because of the looks so be careful when you close the hood.

Make sure the band clamp screws are on the side at TB,
not much clearance with hood and motor moves alot with
stock motor mounts.
Also you can use a small flat head screw under band clamp
into plastic tube to work as a locating pin to keep tube from
slipping out, also helps because you don't have to overtighten
clamp and worry about distorting tube.
