Maybe they just haven't been in a serious life experience yet (too young? lucky so far?) where a million things are thrown at you at once and every one of those things goes from bad to horrific. Business owner or not, Doug is still a person who's vulnerable just like anyone else.

Doug is NOT the kind of person to scam anyone (those of us around here who are not total noobs knows this) and with what's going on in his life, the last thing he needs is to scam a bunch of people landing him in jail, losing rights to see his kids FOREVER and ruin his professional career for life. Doug is the kind of guy that would give his shirt off his back to someone in need. He's just in a situation that's literally tearing his life apart besides being under-staffed for his customer base. There are times in life that no matter what you do, you're in a hole and each step out puts you two steps back in.

To those who purchased from Doug and is still complaining like a little bitch, drop your damn "Fast Food" attitude of wanting everything right now 10 minutes ago and be patient. It does pay off and you WILL get your money back. Acting like a fool ain't going to get anything resolved any quicker.

Damn Internet keyboard jockeys....
Your post is an epic fail and you're living in a vacuum. Everyone understands that he's having problems and issues, but he's still alive and well. What he's done now is created even bigger problems for himself, as well as multiplying the problems of his [ex]customers. I'm pretty sure he wanted to stay in business, but I feel he may have been a bit greedy and essentially bit off more than he could chew. He should have stopped accepting orders a long time ago. My money basically went to the "BamaChips Charity Foundation".

Hes had some really bad crap happen and then because people complained to paypal his account got locked which hurts both you and him

he's a good guy and will try as hard as he can to do what he says

just have faith in this economy its hard to be a small business

I was hoping to get some updated tunes with what I buy with my income tax return so I'm hoping that he's back on his feet in a month or 2

I've dealt with Doug a few times. While he was hard to get a hold of on one occasion when I did reach him he was very helpful and delivered immediately.

Having been through a divorce myself and at times other issues, I can feel for him. The bad part is Doug was also trying to run a business by himself. It's easy to point the finger and blame Doug and say he's the bad guy. I don't think he's a bad guy, just a guy that ran into some bad times and at worst didn't manage his time properly. I do not believe for a second Doug's intentions were to screw anyone.

It's a shame though, because his tunes are awesome.

Sometimes life sucks for us, sometimes it's great. What's a shame is when it sucked for Doug we were all aware of it, and bashing him for this that or the other isn't helping anyone or anything.

I'm sure anyone that wants their money back will eventually get it back. And anyone willing to wait it out and allow Doug to get back on his feet will end up with a great product.

You know I would have been more than happy to help him out, however, under the right conditions. Taking my money was not the right condition. Maybe a donation fund to help him out would have been best. I'm sure a large percentage of folks would have donated a few bucks to help him out. I'm surprised that so many of those that really know him and stand by him didn't establish this in the first place. The unfortunate thing is that now it may be too late.

Yes, WE complained because we didn't receive our goods. It's like going to a store, purchasing an item, and then walking out empty handed. How would you feel, and what would you do? Probably go back and get your item, or at least ask for a refund, right? What if the cashier says, "Sorry sir, but we sold your item to someone else and unfortunately we can't give you a refund. Have a nice day.". I bet you would complain.

Ford_Dude - other than your plusses to the idiot that started calling Doug's victims names, you haven't gotten nasty in your defense of Doug, and I appreciate that.

But this is coming from someone who has actually tried to contact Doug in every way possible and who has gone through PayPal's dispute process and been on the phone with them for hours:

His account was not locked do to customer complaints, it was locked because it was empty - as in no money in it. When you dispute with PayPal you fill out an online form stating your grievance. At that time PayPal informs you that the vendor has 30 days to respond to the dispute.

If there is no response, you may the escalate your dispute to a claim. When I disputed with PayPal the response from them was immediate. They said they had no means of contacting the vendor and my dispute was granted claim status right then and there.

Now think about this - the company he uses to collect his payments had no means of communication with him - just as none of his customer did. Even so, I had to wait a period to allow him to respond to my claim.

I was eventually notified that they ruled in my favor but that there is no money in his account to retrieve. PayPal does not guarantee price protection - and at that time they basically told me I was out of luck. This, right here, is the reason Doug's account was shut down.

I suspect, due to the volume of complains they received that they decided it would be good business on their part to cover these claims, because they paying them now.

I specifically asked them if they are paying me back or if Bamachips is. They told me they (PayPal) are covering the charges.

I hope you and other readers here can understand why it's not so easy to be charitable given the writing on the wall. This is not due to Holiday overload.

its not just holiday overload is the issue

I forgot what it was but something major happened with Doug and he had to take care of it for a month

basicly a whole ton of **** hit all at once and then it all pilled up and has slammed him hard

if he hadn't had whatever it was happen then he would have just had the holiday rush to deal with

I know you feel hurt and mad about not getting what you ordered yet but I'm sure Doug probobly feels like he's been stuck in a marathon of of trying to get things worked out

Exactly, when you see a big $ charge on your card 10 minutes after you place your order, and then you wait for months for your product, you get a little pissed.
That's BS. Your card should be charged WHEN THE PRODUCT SHIPS!!
Bad Business period.

that is the way paypal does it and always has. When you order using paypal you should understand you will be charged almost instantly everytime. there are very times this is not the case.

what a relief! now im going to see if VMP can do any better!!! lol

thanks for all the responses, and feedback info.

the best way to get your money back is to call and talk to PayPal they are the only ones that can help you get a refund, eventhough it took awhile. I thank them 634 dollars worth!!
