jk.. old joke I knew..

I've had this happen to me soooo many times when I attempt to back into a parking spot. it pisses me off to no avail. But like the brute that I am, everything works with FORCE. So I jam the sucker in there and it goes in. Does it do damage ? Prolly. But when I get pissed off I lose any sense of rationality. lol I guess I have to do the 3 and 4th gear first from now on to make my life easier.
LOL normally id be like that but this is waaaaay too expensive a toy for me to risk breaking like that.

I believe i did read about the safety lock in the owners manual. Like others have said going from shifting into a forward gear and then back to reverse works.

LOL, every now and then it annoys the sh^t out of me and I do the same thing. Sometimes you have to conquer these little problems by force to get some satisfaction, the whole "me better than you, me strong, me win" attitude. Makes you feel damn good too.

That quote also seems like it can be applied to something else, LOL.

Read Owners Maunal.
It recommends 4th then reverse.
There is a 5th gear to reverse lockout
that needs to be tripped by putting
it into 4th before reverse...

The Ford Workshop Manual supports this first hand.

I don't think people will try to shift into 6th, it's probably more-so they mean to shift from 5th to forth, and go into R(hypothetically), or 3rd into R.

I don't have the manual in front of me but if memory serves it was not saying recommending that you actually be IN 4th before going to Reverse, just that the shifter needs to be in line with 3/N/4, or any other position to the LEFT of 5/R to avoid the Reverse lock-out...

i always throw it in a forward gear first, usually 4th then reverse. if i dont, it will grind.
