Safe alternative for guys not wanting to risk it with boost?

They say that intake adds "40hp" but what they forget to mention is that it was a 320cid motor....

and look at Jaspers car...351rwhp with his cams/LTs/CAI and a tune...425 fwhp is probably around 375rwhp...so for an extra $2000 + install you get 24rwhp? Not sure if $100/hp is that great an option

With that amount of money, plus install, you will be over the price of a supercharger. Buy a procharger, keep it on low boost, and be done with it. You will STILL make more rwhp on the procharger than having these bolt ons. If you are not a die hard NA guy, dont go this route. Go FI. Have a good tune and maintain your car and you will be golden.

it's already been said but after the labor that kit is gonna be the same or more than a supercharger kit. also that kit is relying on your stock bottom end, aka the "weak link", so you really haven't addressed the #1 failure in our motors.

it's also relying on revving out the motor to 7,000rpm to gain the power and revving out higher puts exponential stress on the weak stock rods. every 12% higher you rev the rpm's you put 50% more stress on the rods. in going from 6,000 rpm redline to 7,000 rpm redline you're revving out 16% higher and adding 50-75% more stress on the rods. that extra stress from revving to 7,000 rpm could easily be MORE than the stress from supercharging the motor to the same horsepower but staying at the stock 6,000 rpm redline.

in the end it's the extra power that will stress a motor. whether that power is from all-motor, supercharging, or nitrous, it all eventually has to push on a piston, that pushes on a rod, that turns the crank done right and either option will be safe, done wrong and either option will kill a motor. the more power you have the quicker things can turn from bad to worse which is why boost gets a bad rap. people get power greedy and just crank the boost and go beyond their tune or components.

if you want more power but are worried about powning the motor then go with one of ford's supercharger kits that keeps the boost a little lower. you'll get more power and still have the warranty. then you can just run a custom tune to gain some more power. ever get a problem put their tune back in and take it in for the warranty.

I've got about 3,000 miles on my kenne bell kit so far at 480whp, so far so good. if you're worried then get a kit and stick around 400whp with low boost on a safe tune and you'll be fine
