I believe the OP is talking about Ford's new MyKey feature that limits the stereo volume and speed for younger drivers in the family.

Wow....Ford's dabbling in parenting now? Interesting...

If you can't handle the volume or speed, you shouldn't be driving. I can't believe we now have to pay for this crap (and trust me, you pay for it, even if it's "standard equipment").

Okay, yes. I'm talking about mykey. So, I understand that if you have the master key you can do anything. I haven't found a note anywhere that describes the procedure to change the settings.

I think its a pretty cool system, whether it be letting your kid drive or letting someone borrow your car.

Oh! My 2010 doesn't have that option, But it doesn't matter because I am the only one who drives my car! JUST SAY NO TO VALET PARKING!

But definitely a good thing to have for those who do have teenage drivers, or do valet park.

The volume limiter seems of questionable use but the speed limiter is definitely a good feature they should and probably will put in all their cars. But it's not a power limiter as far as I'm aware; it just restricts top speed. Irrelevant for valet parking but helps reign in irresponsible teenage drivers.

Sounds like a better idea for a convertible, when I had my shaker I hated that speed volume crap!

It's all described in the Owners Manual. But beware: rumor has it that the OM will burst into spontaneous combustion if exposed to light or the human touch AND it has page after page of razor sharp teeth, explosives and deadly germs. Try not to touch it or even look at it or you might not have the opportunity to post similiar questions that could otherwise be easily answered.

Wow. After that blast of sarcasm, I need another 8 hours of sleep...

My '10 has the same function. If your stereo (dunno if 11 is the same) has a button labeled "SOUND" the option to turn it off is in there. Hit SOUND/ navigate left or right through the options until you find speed compensation (or something close to that) and toggle it off. Edit: Just saw some prev posts...if it is MYkey..I have no idea.
