Default CAI + Tune Vs. Just Tune (Brenspeed)

Im looking into getting a brenspeed tuner really soon. Im looking at their website and trying to decide if its really worth it to get the tuner + cai combos instead of just the tuner. Ive read around here a good amount and have gathered that the CAI can offer a few more HP with the tune? Is that correct?

Anyway, what are you guy's expereinces? Worth the price to get the combo or just stick to the tuner alone?

I have been told that the 11+ CAI actually flows pretty good and does not need to be replaced until you have some more modification. If you think of it like most people say, if 90% is the tune and 10% is the intake, do you want to pay the extra 2-3 hundred for a intake right now that you will not see the benefits of till you open up the exhaust or do some other things to increase flow?

http://www.moddedmustangs.com/forums...wer-gains.html

· Stock – no modifications: 363RWHP / 331RWTQ
· Factory tune, Prototype C&L cold air intake: 374RWHP / 338RWTQ
· Bama Custom Tune, stock Airbox: 379RWHP / 357RWTQ
· Bama Custom Tune, Prototype C&L cold air intake: 385RWHP / 362RWTQ

here is some results from AM. but like JD said, most of it comes from the tune.

+1 that the CAI WILL add a few additional RWHP. I've seen others post similiar results to those in onderful100's post above. It's up to you to decide if it's worth it. IMO, it is and the combo is simply the way to go.

Keep in mind that if you go with just the tune now, if you add the CAI later you'll need a new tune to go with it (more $$).

I think will go with a combo. I guess everyone also has their own opinions on which tuner is the best. Ive heard a lot of good about Brenspeed, Bama and a couple others...is there any definite reason to go with one company over all others?

Ive read a lot of good things about Brenspeeds customer service..and dont they update your tune when you upgrade stuff for free over email?

When I was NA I loved my Bama tune. The way he manages to get the throttle to act makes it feel much less like the drive by wire system we have. I do have to note, I put my car on a dyno with A/F with all my current mods and the Brenspeed tune, and there tune was right where I wanted to see it. Either of them is great, but like I said, NA, the bama tune was sick

I'm pretty sure Brenspeed would provide the tune for free later as long as the CAI was purchased from them.
