You need a stick! I don't shift to 5th until over 120 and it pulls like a beast up till then.

Perhaps a better tune is what you need.

I hope bama gets back to me soon.
OMG. That does not fix the issue. It's a work around. Nothing wrong with driving your auto manually but we even told you before you did the gear change that you need to update the tune

I love that the 4.10s make O/D feel like it's got some oomph, but yes, no downshift would be a tad bit annoying to say the least. I'm sure AM will have you fixed up in no time!

Grabber - if it makes you feel any better, leaving a 3650 in 5th at 100 will give pretty much the same softish response. Like you discovered - it's not the engine or the tune or the axle gears, but the tall OD in the tranny (and the tranny shift programming that leaves you in OD).

If you were into open-tracking and looking at hitting 135 down the longer straights, you probably wouldn't want 4.10's (because they'd be making you grab 5th/OD at around 125 and you'd have hardly any acceleration at all).

gconnsr - after Ronnie Sox was born, they broke the mold and threw away the pieces. Drag racing hasn't been quite the same since.

I know it doesnt fix the issue my point was like you just stated its a work around until I get the new tune. And yes I have heard it before, but than others say "o0o its just to calibrate the speedo".. I am awaiting the tune but the o/d button is a fix FOR NOW.

This isn`t a matter of stick or auto. If your car won`t downshift it is not functioning properly.

You can chose 1st, 2nd, or 3rd with an auto just as you can with manual. Your problem is to get the trans to downshift when you want it to. When you find out why that isn`t happening most of your problems will vanish.

I thought about 4:10s on my 2006 GT but if I ever change gears will probably go with 3:73.

Plus in the snow I imagine 4:10 harder to drive, plus 4:10s would probably get me some tickets too.

You don't need deeper gears to get you tickets. You can get tickets just as easily with 2.76 gears as you will with 4.10 gears.

The simple fix: Lay off the gas.

Yeah, I know. I went through the exact same thing. It was a mixed answer. I then contacted Brenspeed before I did my gear change and they told me a new tune was required due to the shift points changing.

Also just a friendly reminder.. remember what time of year it is. Doing 125 during winter isn't exactly the best thing to do, especially in a cold area like New York.
