Default Help needed badly!!!!!

My girlfriend really wants a 06 GT badly. She is 21 with a clean driving record. She has the money to get one and the one thing holding her back is insurance. Her parents carry her on their policy so it is cheaper. They looked into to it and they said that they would have a hard time finding someone to carry her on a policy and that their is no way she can get the GT because of her age. I find this REALLY hard to believe. We are thinking that they are not telling us the full truth. Anybody have a clue about this stuff? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

She is old enough to have her own policy. I didn't start driving until I was able to pay my own insurance at 18. I bought a car at 19. My insurance was $ 1,200 a year back in 1987 with just liability. At thats with no fancy car either

Now I'm 36 and just bought a 2005 Mustang V6 and my insurance is about $700.00 for full coverage. It varied over the years depending on what I had. But they quoted me a price around $700 for a 2005 GT V8 ,even before I bought a car. They used that as an example to work with. Tell her to shop around for insurance, do some research before jumping into it.
I can't believe her age (21) could stop her from getting insurance. Her parents are trying to pull a fast one on her. Tell her to get a seperate policy and that will free her from her parents web.

Try 1-800-Safe-Auto. Here is their website also: http://www.safeauto.com/

Or you can try: Geico Car Insurance http://www.geico.com/

You see these 2 on TV all the time. It doesn't hurt to call them for quotes and explain to them about her having her own policy.

I don't have either one, I use our local insurance company for many years.I have my house and car insurance with them and I get a discount.
Someday if they get to out of control with prices, I will contact Geico or SafeAuto.

Even if it's more money on her own, it will drop as she gets older. My wife has a 2002 Saturn Coupe/ I have a 2005 Mustang Coupe/Premium (don't forget all the airbags that come with this baby- helps out on rates) and we both have full coverage about $600 for hers/$700yearly for mine and its down as 2 drivers for both.

Hope it works out for her.
Good Luck

I've never been on a parent's policy. Ever since I got my first car at 17 I've been on my own separate policy. Under 25, people do pay a significant premium for insurance. I remember when I turned 25 my insurer (state farm) sent me a letter pretty much saying "happy birthday, oh we owe you a rebate since you're 25 now" and I got a nice chunk of my premium back. That was in New Jersey, a place not known for friendly or cheap car insurance.

Where do you guys live that your full insurance is so low? I'm in California now and my premium for my V6 Mustang is still $700 for 6 months.

I live in Pennsylvania.

I am glad azzkikn06 that you quote of that. That's $490.00/year with a Mustang GT V8. and she is 21 years old. Man, that seems great.

Hope she's out looking for the Mustang today.

Once she gets one, better keep an eye on her. The guys will be all around her and her car like standing around a keg of beer.

She might stand a chance with the V6 mustang but on the V8 her insurance will be sky high. THere's nothing that you can do about it because of her age.

$245 for 6 months? That has to be liability only. Unless she is buying the car outright, I believe almost every lending institution will require some type of comprehensive coverage.

$245 is not right (If full coverage is included, and you're definately going to want that if shes a 21 year old girl). Never do the online crap. They always BS you with prices.

You need to call them up and see, thas the only way to get an accurate quote.
