Well I got out my book and it states you may choose to shift from 1st to 4th for better gas mileage but not required. I have driven it like a grandma all day today trying to make "skip shift"and I still was able to run through all of the gears. The SS camaro I had drove you had to be really winding it out to be able to run through all of the gears. I KNOW HOW IT WORKS!!!

Well Sorry friends but mine either don't have it or it don't work. Drove it like a grandma all day and it would allow me to run through all the gears. The book states for better economy you may choose to go from 1st to 4th but not required. I drove an ss camaro and I know how they are designed to work.

Skip shift is a total non-issue.. seriously.

The real issue.. this tranny is a f'ing clunky piece of junk. When cold.. it will grind. When warm.. it may feel like "butter".. just to keep you satisfied for a while.. then it will make noises that will make you cringe (pressing clutch at 3000rpm in 1st.. or anytime in reverse). Banging, clanking, and grinding are "normal" operating characteristics.

I curse you all who made me think I needed a manual (kidding.. sort of).

While an auto might not have been as much fun.. and would have required a "tune".. it would have certainly kept my stress level down.. and kept me from having auto-Munchausen by proxy.

MrSandman, I have to agree with you on the tranny. Everything you mentioned, I've experienced it, and many more other pleasantries.

But, I guess that's what warranties are for. Let's hope they figure something out. 2011 Mustangs have been out for over a year. SIGH

I have to say I drove my 11 GT through one of the most brutaly cold and snowy winters we've had in a long time. No issues what so ever. I've driven nothing but manuals since I was sixteen and 38 years later this Mustang has the best shifting tranny I've ever experienced.
