There is a video on there as well. I have sportline springs and I have to be careful on where i park. If you have lowering springs and a chin spoiler, I'd say that may be too low.

Here is where I mounted mine
man thats sweet.. i'd like to do that on the rear plate.. lol

I'm willing to take OP's word that the tint is factory. The viewing angle (or camera angle) and lighting angles can make it look darker than it really is.

Time was when serious performance cars and sports cars rarely got involved with appearance mods just for appearance sake, and certainly not when the appearance change came at a cost in function. It's only been recently that for whatever reason tinting windows and what-not has become closer to mainstream.

IOW, tinting does not make a sports car (or perhaps more accurately in this case, a ponycar or a musclecar). A visual statement - sure. But that's something else entirely.

i agree with this..

see.. i always thought of tinting the windows as a function of helping keep the car cooler during the summer, not nec. a visual statement.. even though imo it does make the car look less cluttered and cleaner, i don't de-value a car if it doesn't have tint..

Let's just say that I understand that a whole lot better now than I did back when sports cars, ponycars, and musclecars first showed up. "Back in the day", tinting didn't particularly exist even for reducing the A/C load, and A/C itself was reserved for the upscale and luxury market segments (and projected a certain "snob" status, at least in New England and other regions more northern than KY). But nowadays, there's even a specific term used as a general description of the resulting appearance involving tint - IIRC "murdered". Kind of points out how a person's individual background and the era in which they grew up affects how they see things, I guess (our son saw the last of his 30's about a month ago).

Wow. I didn't think this kind of stuff happened in TX.

That guy was straight BS'ing you when he said he couldn't see the front plate. Looks pretty obvious to me...and I'm not even a trained Law Enforcement official. That really sucks because it looks like you did a good job with it and was respectful at the same time.

Try searching DMV in TX for vehicle code info.

i don't know if this was mentioned but i was on americanmuscle.com and noticed they have a plate bracket that you can install under your car and it comes with a key fob that remotely pushes the plate from under the car and kind of in the position you have yours...might want to look into that...just my $.02

I cant drive a car unless it has tint. Cause i feel naked with no tint cause everybody can see my business. Besides, i dont want the sun killing me. Probably the copper wanted to check out the car and made up a reason.

I promise the tint is factory. I was actually upset that the dealership put it on there at a price of $400. I have a buddy that owns a tint shop that would have done a much better job with better tint for less. I honestly have tint on all my vehicles because it is reg over 100 degrees in the summer around here. It helps a lot with the heat in the car and helps the AC cool faster. I've also heard it helps keep your leather longer (I also put a shade in the windshield when parked). That could be rumors though but it makes me feel better.
