Default Dealer didn't fix squeaking driver's window.

I just got my car back this afternoon cause of service. They put in two new control arms. My suspension is fine now. I told them to take a look at my driver's side window, the guy said it was just dirty and they cleaned it up for me. I'm still getting a scratching sound when I roll the window up on my driver's side. The passenger side window is fine. The speed of the power window is normal but the scratching sound is very annoying. What dealer couldn't fix it, what can I do to fix this problem? I have a 2012 mustang gt with just 500 miles on it. Thanks in advance

Keep taking it in until they fix it. You're the customer, you paid the money. Just be polite, speak with the service manager and let him know that the problem still exists. I honestly doubt they spent time looking at it.

So THATS why they snarl at me every time I walk in to the parts department! After waiting 2 weeks for a part they told me to expect the next day, I barged in threatening to call the owner of the dealership.

Roll down the window, spray some silicone on a rag, and rub it on the inside length of the rubber that contacts the window.

Don't spray it on the rubber, only on the rag. Then wipe the rubber with the rag.
Also, if any price sticker glue is still on the window, then remove it with vegetable oil and a rag before applying the silicone.

+1 05-09 also had this annoyance on the drivers side window. I just silicone lubed it (grease, not spray) and am done with it. I have to reapply it about once a year. No biggie.

Hi Will3212,

I hope these tips resolved your window scratch. If not, then I recommend demonstrating the noise for a technician next time it is in for service. If you would like help with resolving this, please PM me your VIN, contact info, mileage, and dealer so I can try to assist.

Young_Gun,

I apologize for the dealer not having the part you ordered on time! If you would like to discuss this matter, please PM me your VIN, contact info, mileage, and dealer and I can arrange for someone to contact you to document your issue.

I have this squeak when I roll up/down my windows too lol, its like when you rub a finger across a clean piece of glass/metal and it is pretty loud. The dealer replaced my weather stripping and window seal stuff, but to no avail- it only got louder.

So I might go ahead and try the silicon thing, its gotten to the point where I don't roll my window down when I have company in the car haha. Thanks guys, appreciate it.
