Bama tunes.

It is just my belief that the CAI/Tune is a little overhyped.

Before I installed the CAI/Tune, I made a couple runs with the pedal to the floor. After the CAI/Tune, I did the same. Call me crazy but I did not see a huge difference like others on the forum have seen.

The difference is more noticeable in the 05-09's for reasons which I stated in post #5: the '10 starts at a higher RWHP than the 05-09's due to the 10's stock tune already being about 50% into the gains seen on an 05-09 WITH custom tune.

i haven't driven an 05-09 but from what ive read it sounds like they aren't as responsive and aggressively tuned as the 10+ stangs. ie: throttle response. hp isn't the only thing a tune should provide.

being more aggressively tuned to have the extra 15 hp and better throttle response stock is going to eat into those gains from the tune.

IMO one of the biggest gains you can get from a tune is the better throttle response, but my 10 gt stock has great throttle response already.

out of curiosity which tune are you running jcieutat? ive had tunes on previous vehicles but haven't made the plunge on my stang yet.

what you have said is making me think its probably a waste of money for the 10 gt. ill probably just wait and save for an m90.

I'd probably agree, IF I had a '10, was planning on going FI in the future AND wasn't planning on any gear changes, tire size changes or anything else in the near-future that would require me to have a tuner to make those plus a few other handheld-allowed changes.

If I had the 10 GT I would forget the aftermarket CAI/Tune and invest in a good pair of headers and a midpipe. That would prob get more gains than a CAI/tune for you.

A "good pair of headers" means LT's in which case you'll need a tune for the O2's. Headers and midpipe MIGHT gain you the additional 12 or so RWHP that a CAI & tune will get you on a '10... maybe. Add cams to those LT's and you're talking equal or more power than the CAI & tune on the '10.

I ran the 87 Street, 89 Performance, and 93 Performance (I think). I did not even request the 93 Race. I am sure I would have felt something with this one (93 Race) but being a daily driver and the fact that I don't race, I did not need it. I have since ordered the no tune insert for my CAI and removed the tune and returned it to factory.

well to compare my bbr tune to stock i only gained 1 tenth and 1 mph on the track on the same day. on my 07 gt i gained 5 tenths with just a tune.
