Just purchased the pony red white and blue chrome decals for the front fenders on the 2012 mustang. These have adhesive on the back along with 2 alignment pins. The fenders are not drilled. Has anyone ever remove these pins and used only the adhesive to hold the decals on? Or do I need to drill holes?
The holes are only used to line the emblem up square on the fender... The adhesive is incredibly robust and will have no problem holding by itself, as long as it is applied properly (area cleaned and adhesion promoter used) and allowed to cure for 24 hours before moving the car. Also, ambient temperature above 70 degrees if I'm not mistaken...
You should be good without the pins, I doubt they will come off. Seeing as how scoops that catch the wind like crazy only need tape, slim emblems should be fine.

+1, and besides the old 4.0 badges on 05-09 models only held with tape as well. Only GT's had the holes.
