Default Improving the sound system in a convertible

I have a white convertible 08 GT, came with the standard shaker500. Previous owner tried adding a massive subwoofer in the trunk, he ended up spraying insulator all over the trunk lid trying to prevent the trunk lid from rattling and still managing to get some bass, but he failed.

I'v researched and concluded the best thing to do is improve everything i have inside the cabin, i dont want to drill any more holes or anything like that so that leaves me with 4 spots.

I was thinking of getting some kickers, though i dont know which ones will fit, and i dont want to spend more than 300 on speakers, can anyone point me to the best speakers or a better solution?

I used to have an 06 Equinox LT with a premium sound system, so im quite spoiled in sound quality, im used o have everything vibrating due to the bass. I know we cant replicate that in my case, but the bass in my car is just too lacking.

Try crutchfield.com Lots of choices there. Hard part is finding woofers for the bottom of the doors. Not too much choice last time I checked. If you want to keep the head unit, pay attention to the ohms for those 2 woofers. The other 4 are pretty easy to replace.

I just bought a shaker 1000 kit from somebody and installed it (went from the 500 to the 1000) The only thing I changed is an upgraded mid in my door (the 5x8 i think the speaker was) and now my stereo sounds great. I've heard that the kicker door subs sound really good too, the ones made for the Shelby's, but I didn't upgrade the subs and mine sounds great.
