You can change personal touches on the GT500 as well The front ends of the GT500's are nicer.

I agree, I do like the front ends better. I know you can change the GT to that, but I'm thinking, where do you stop? I mean really and truly, with the S/C'er, suspension, etc. etc, aren't you just trying to make a GT500 for the most part anyway? So I guess what they're (Cousin & Friends) is pretty accurate. Plus, like some of you said, if the extra $$ don't bother me, with the GT500 you're starting with a better platform pretty much all around.

I appreciate the input guys. That'll help me figure it out and possibly start looking. One good thing is I really bought my GT right, so I'm not gonna get hurt selling it at all.

I would have to agree that starting with a GT500 is starting with a better platform.

You also have to keep in mind the 5.4L of the GT500 is a 4 valve versus a 3-valve so it breathes way better to begin with. If you want to get crazy with a GT500 you can bore it out into a 5.8L with steel liners (like the 2013's) and be way over the top.

A 4.6L even with forged internals will still need better heads and major work on the block to get it anywhere near a even a moderately modded 5.4L.

[QUOTE=j Since I would never daily drive a GT500, I would not own one as my primary car (and I love driving my car everyday). Maybe I will add a GT500 to my stable if I find a great deal on one... [/QUOTE]

I agree. It would just seem silly to buy a gt500 as a daily driver.

why would it be silly to have as a daily driver? don't know about you guys, but I want my daily driver to be as fun as possible. it breaks up the boring daily grind and gives you something to look forward to before and after work and anytime you have to run an errand. I want to enjoy the hell out of it.

I agree, aren't they super reliable too? There is a freshman (now sophomore) at my university who DD's his 2008 GT500... so not fair!
Personally, I only put about 7-8k miles per year, and we had about 0.5 inches of snow last winter total, lol.

will support more power as it sits.
on the other hand, adding a SC to a GT is cheaper.
i've had 450 rwhp for 5 years without a problem.
thats for the price of a SC added to what you have now.
if you go with a GT500, thats a lot more money to spend.
I went the same route, I moddified my GT. It puts down 400 + HP & has never skipped a beat. That being said, IF you can afford one, get the GT500!

If I had to do it again, it would be a "no brainer" for me, GT500 all the way. Unfortunately, at this point I have way too much $$$$ into my GT to let it go & start all over. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my car.
