Damn ford ripping us off by having us perform routine maintenance. I've no patience today. What an idiot.

You are correct, I looked it up, I did not know that. I guess all the experts on here know more than Toyota and Ford.. I guess I can give Ford a pass, they did eventually introduce the life time filter...

From the 2012 manual:

FUEL FILTER
Your vehicle is equipped with a lifetime fuel filter that is integrated with
the fuel tank. Regular maintenance or replacement is not needed.
For Shelby fuel filter requirements, see the Shelby GT500 Supplemen

Checking my GFs 07 Scion hers never needs replacing...

Why such the difference? Ok 4 vs V8, I understand the difference but hers literally never needs to be replaced, why?
You should probably get on that ASAP homie.

LOL...Fully agree. That $15 every 30k is breaking my bank. Damn you Ford! How dare you require routine maintenance to keep your miraculous Mustangs driving at optimal performance! You maniacs! Damn yous, damn yous all to hell!

Really? How about asking why Ford didn't introduce the lifetime filter when other cars costing half as much already offered them?

You are a Ford apologist, this is why things such as the seat latches, shifter ***** and door trim never get fixed, people don't demand Ford step their quality up.

No, not the case. I work in Quality Operations so I know that a "lifetime" fuel filter is probably not a priority item. Not too mention, I'm betting that the engineers at Ford didn't introduce it for a reason (they are pretty smart). Never had any issues with seat latches, shifter ***** or door trim on either of my Mustangs so I must just be really lucky lol

Yes, the same engineers who could not design a gas tank properly, or designed the hood vent that it will flood the car or how the doors can flood... Or the same guys who decided it was a smart idea to have a German company build the transmissions in China to save money, how did that work out?

How about the fact they could not get the gears in the 05's correct? How about that Ford was shamed into redesigning the car in 2010 because in a convertible a head on collision was a death trap because the you'd hit your head on the windshield frame. Only after the IIHS published their report did Ford redesign the windshield.

How about the fact my rear view mirror after 4 years pealed or the seat latch broke, or the door trim came off in 3 years or the shifter **** exploded or the fuel pump getting air in the line?

The same Ford that used faulty hoods that rusted yet they knew and didn't do **** about it...

How come the radio buttons pealed after 4 years?

I can keep going... Ford builds a fun car, but it's far from high quality.

You should apply for a position at Ford as an engineer and change the world! Seriously though, why do you even own a Ford? Doesn't make sense based on your outlook on the company. Name ONE company that manufactures automobiles that hasn't run into design issues. Do that and I'll agree that the "lifetime" fuel filter issue should be a deal breaker when considering a vehicle purchase. Good luck.

my honda civic's fuel filter is built into the fuel pump and never needs replacing.

IMO, having a seperate fuel filter is better. and it only took me 10 minutes to change so no big deal.
having a seperate filter and changing it every 30k miles or so means you are running cleaner gas through the engine vs a car that doesnt change the filter.
just bc you dont need to change it doesnt mean it works any better.

if you've ever changed the fuel filter and see what it actually filters out,
you would be glad that you have a replacable fuel filter.

unless you're just lazy.
