How about the fact they could not get the gears in the 05's correct? How about that Ford was shamed into redesigning the car in 2010 because in a convertible a head on collision was a death trap because the you'd hit your head on the windshield frame. Only after the IIHS published their report did Ford redesign the windshield.

How about the fact my rear view mirror after 4 years pealed or the seat latch broke, or the door trim came off in 3 years or the shifter **** exploded or the fuel pump getting air in the line?

The same Ford that used faulty hoods that rusted yet they knew and didn't do **** about it...

How come the radio buttons pealed after 4 years?

I can keep going... Ford builds a fun car, but it's far from high quality.
Maybe you just build all the Mustangs then... and keep on a budget to keep costs down so you can make a profit and not have to charge a fortune for a car that's supposed to be affordable. If the Mustang is such a terrible maintenance ridden car then go drop 40k on a BASE 3 series. Oh wait. But then you'd have to pay a fortune for repairs and be complaining about the costs to replace quality parts. Just invest in a bike or something.

How is a 30k affordable? The Mustang is not cheap, it's expensive and yet we get hosed because Ford glued the car together and skimped out. There is a reason why Ford almost went bankrupt and leveraged everything including their logo to save the company, they can't compete in terms of quality. Granted they have done better, but the Mustang is a perfect example of them taking for granted their fan base... They can't do the same with the F150 thus that is one hell of a truck for the money.. We get screwed as the Camaro and Challengers suck.

But hey keep being a Ford apologist but one day when all the issues I have happen to you, you'll change your tune..

BUT Ford did not go bankrupt, when many other companies folded. Why you might ask? Because they sell a quality product for a reasonable price. $30K in the current sports car market is completely affordable, with performance levels beating out cars 2x's the cost. And you're complaining about a fuel filter replacement and calling everyone that doesn't agree with your point of view on MINOR complaints a "Ford apologist"? I think you should get out of the Mustang and move on to a different car company so you can find some real complaints. Not many cars have had the run the Mustang has had. Clearly they are doing something right.

Funny you should bring up the F-150. There are numerous issues that Ford has run into with them. Maybe all of the people buying them are also "Ford Apologists".

Thread should be titled "I'm too lazy and poor to do spend 15 minutes doing $15 worth of maintenance." Oops, now I'm being an apologist, lol.

While this is true, keep in mind Ford did get get a 5.9 billion dollar loan from the Feds about 9 months before things tanked. Ford also lobbied in favor of the bailout, probably knowing that if the rest of the auto industry tanked, they'd hurt more than they'd gain.

I think overall each manufacturer is in a better place, making better cars. You'd be hard pressed to find someone in the auto manufacturing industry who thinks the bailout wasn't a good thing. I think so far, GM and Chrysler have paid back about half their debts.

Anyways . . . I digress.

Minor complaints? I'm about to leave in ten minutes to go pick up a brand new rear view mirror as mine started to peel in year 3 of owning the car. It's peeled so much I can't take it any longer and bought a new one.

The first thing I'll notice when I'll walk to my car is the rust bubbles on the hood..

Go on defend a company that sold rusting hoods then never stood behind their product because as their bs warranty states it must be perforated...

What would you say to everyone on that thread including me that Ford could not produce a car in the year 2006 that did not have the door panels fall off within 3 years? I had to fix my car with gear bought from homedepot..... Just sad...

My gfs scion looks brand new compared to my stang yet she only has 20k less miles and is one year newer.. Her interior is flawless.

Oh and ford took 6 billion in loans from the Gov just as they were about to go under... Go on, defend them again for "no bailouts".

The fuel filter is a perfect example on how cheap Ford really is.

My Saleen was built in 06 and the door panels are fine (or were when I sold it a few weeks ago) . . .

Your hatred of Ford seems severe, and I'm not sure you'll find many sympathetic shoulders here.

I'd venture to bet that companies are saving money on the lifetime filters versus the replacement filters, and if that's the case, you could say Ford is the opposite of cheap in that regard.

But really, you're whining about a $15 replacement part. Like I said earlier, I've replaced a $40 so-called lifetime filter, and it definitely looked like it needed replacing after nearly 100k miles. In the grand scheme of things, I view the guy unwilling to do $15 maintenance on his car as the real cheapskate. If you hate Ford and Mustangs so much, why are you on a Ford Mustang forum? To troll?

Maybe you should just get one so you don't have to spend one more dreaded second in that Mustang.

I was going to play nice but your comments in this thread, as well as others, are plain ignorant and stupid.
