Guess its mostly just technology changes.
The mustang pumps have a pre-filter as well. My wifes chrysler 300 v6 doesn't have a serviceable fuel filter, nor does my Buell.

You can't really compared a 300hp v8 to a 100hp 4banger. One requires much more fuel to flow to the injectors, so any little restriction will be noticeable.

Cost about a grand to replace on average for a DIY EV. Assuming you maintain correctly, they can last longer. Replacing a set of even mass produced EV batteries doesn't cost nearly that much unless it's a ridiculously fast EV with near 200mi range on it like the Tesla roadster.

I would really like to get a funked up old pick-up or something and convert it myself for the daily commute and such. The normal bolt-in electric motor has some ridiculous torque to be made as well.

Any vehicle, regardless if it's electric, hybrid, or whatever still needs maintenance. Anyone believing anything that is subjected to the elements and/or has moving parts has 0, or near 0 maintenance, probably shouldn't own anything that isn't disposable.

There is a shortlist of things FORD did wrong, I think the majority here are well aware of most. For what it is, how much it cost, where most of it is made, I still regret nothing. Comparing a Toyota to it is apples vs oranges. Workers aren't paid nearly as much, etc.. And they all still have variations of these specific line quirks you're listing, to which they play off as well.

Most EV cars have an 8 to 10 year warranty on the battery. It may cost 10 grand to replace the packs now. It won't cost nearly that in 10years. Think of how much a boss motor will cost in 10 years. Probably 1/2 to 1/3 of what it does now.
