These are usually a waste of money. You hope the company doesn't go out of business. You hope the problem is covered. You hope the deductible isn't out of line with the cost of the repair.

Take whatever $$ you'd WASTE on an extended warranty and put it into an interest-bearing account. You'll likely have every penny plus interest when it comes time to sell/trade/upgrade to your next vehicle.
On the original question.....most programs that are not Ford/dealer programs are really bad from the experience I have seen. If you are buying....I would stick with the Ford deal.
