The 350 is on there because I love Chevy guys thinking its 350hp. Oh its a 500 and then some. Been there done that on the S trim and yes it will make 12-14lbs before you stroke and bore the engine but then it can't make even 10lb. on the smallest pulley after that. Now keep in mind this is a fun street car and not a drag car. I'm not telling you what it might need I'm telling you I just parked the car 10 minutes ago and it runs like a champ. Its an auto and on the floof the first three gears the car is wild. Dual fuel pumps if you read above I had and they suck. They were on the Cobra to and sucked on it. I don't want to come off like a ***** but believe me I spent $14,000.00 to built a perfect street Mustang motor and close to 3 months of testing and in that time we blew 4 motors. The $14,000 is what I have in this motor alone. But its perfect.

Lostsoul be carefull. We bent rods on the stock motor at 400rwhp. No Joke. The rod was replace and we bent another at about 410. They tell me the motor in the car now will stand 900 plus hp and live all day an I believe it really will. Watch the rods. On another note if you do bend one email me I have 2 2005 motors in pieces stock so you could get a rod or two if you need.

We had a Ford tech fly down just to see the car when they were having some timing sensor problems which he figured out. Vortech's techs. will tell the truth and try to learn from you which I don't mind but they need to do some R&D themselves.

Either way I'm have fun now.

My bad I just took it for granted most knew there I think 55lb injectors and custom fuel rails. Also the intake was replace because when we hit 16lbs of boost it exploded so we got a prototype that was out there. Another thing I'm running 3" pipe and headers all the way back so you lose even though it makes no sense a lot of boost from no restriction but if you can get the boost back up which the T trim will do then you can run some big numbers.

the intake you are referring to is a prototype? can you say who is going to build an intake manifold and when do you think they will be availible to general public? do they need anymore r&d cars cause i'm in. maybe they want to test on an N/A car.

Thanks John. That makes a lot more sense. I thought you were using the kit injectors and stock rails. I am also switching to the T when the stroker goes in cause your right, but on the stock bottom end, 14 psi is doing great. I also went through the ringer with vortech and 90% of the car - we had to figure out ourselves. I want to stress to all that I have seen stock bottom ends on these cars handle 550 to the ground and I have seen stock bottom ends give out at 420 to the ground, so each car is really unique and I guess you have to see what yours can do/take. I really would love to get a look at your a/f throughout powerband though, it could be of great help as fuel is my biggest problem right now and your dual pump comments got me a little nervous cause I was convinced that was the way to go. I'm open to all suggestions????? Your car is a marvel and try to get us some video of that beast in action.

Lost soul - it is my opinion that the real weak link in these motors is the rods. I think forged internals, rods, pistons, and a good crank - and you'll handle where you want to go.

Guys here what the stock rod looks like at 400hp. Got more junk stock pics if you want them. Rods suck.

The motor now.

Not sure who made the intake it came through FC. Let you guys know now we are building a new motor for an 06 I have on order that uses the 351 lighting block and 4 valve heads and the T trim setup. Now that I know what to do we are shooting for 750hp and reliable and I think we can make this thing do it.

On the dual pump issue. The cobras all had it then changed to the 255 pump. We tried about every combination you could think of and I can tell you the fuel boost and spark boost have worked great the dual pumps just didn't work. The extended mass air flow is a big deal also. The car wouldn't hardly run until that was installed. So you know if your building one of these I'm getting 11 mile to the gallon. No that's not at 65mph.
Thanks
John

Very Nice!! What spark booster did you go with? and what boost pump also. I have the KB and after reading your post. I want to try the spark boost.

damn.. that rod looks liek me after a night of drinking.. haha.. but its hard to believe that happened at 400hp or even 400rwhp.. there are tons of sc 05's out there with 400-440rwhp now =-/.. even jusins car didnt blow till 560rwhp and that was with nos and allot of abuse.. anymore info on what might have cased that? I know everyones cars are different a little, but to have some act like that is scary

Would someone explain to me an engine dummy why a supercharger on the 3-valve engine doesn't produce 400 plus to the wheels. What I understand from half *** reading this thread is that you produce 400 plus horsepower but you are losing it before it hits the rear wheels. Does this mean any other bolt on modification would be rather pointless? Electric water pump, pullys, long tube headers etc? Please answer maybe I should just start modifying my exterior looks with wheels etc before dumping more money into a machine that it wouldn't benefit.
