I have flashback LED turnsignals and recently one of them refused to blink when my lights are on (fog lights and/or headlights). If the lights are off and I use the turnsignal, everything works as it should. I assumed one of the resistors went bad so I looked into buying new ones to replace it. I bought some on amazon that had high reviews and had the same specs on the resistor I originally had.
Yesterday I spent time and replaced the resistor. It needed it. I barely touched it and one end snapped off. lol. I replaced the resistor and the issue still occurs. Suggestions on what to do with this? These are not directional right?
What I did:
- Removed the old resistor by snipping the remaining wire holding it on.
- Snipped the other end to make sure I saw a clean wire end.
- I replaced the resistor using the included camps that came with it and snapped them on to the old existing wires that did not look damaged. (The old ones were hard wired in with some kind of tight wrap (you can see them just where the wires meet where the bulb goes). I didn't want to start trying to cut wires and with the little space I had, it was not worth trying.)
- Since it was still not working, I thought maybe the light bulb itself might be bad. So I switched the bulb with the working side, left to right. And the same issue occurs, so it is not the bulb.
