Default Cant Disconnect This Sensor

Long story short I smashed the wiring harness in my 2007 V6 Mustang. I need to remove this connector (in the picture sorry it so big I don't know what I am doing) it is on the driver side. I am a not a huge car guy I got this car to learn how to work on cars because it needed some tlc. I have done some research and think that is the coolant temp sensor although I saw a video of someone's GT and it was in a completely different spot. I need instructions on how to remove this so I can rip the harness out to fix the damaged section.

You can't compare the V6 and V8 engines when looking at youtube video, completely different things.

I believe that what you are looking at is the oil pressure sensor. There should be a tab you push down to disconnect the electronics. You probably need to pull pretty hard since it has been on a long time.

The 4.0 V6 coolant temp sensor is on the thermostat housing. If you haven't replaced that yet by the way take a look. It isn't a question of IF it will fail, only when will it fail.

Ok yeah I figured comparing them wasn't going to do much. But the problem is there is little room for my had.

Once the connector is disconnected, the large silvery metal base closest to the engine has flats to allow a deep-well socket wrench to fit on it, over the sensor portion above, and remove or tighten the sensor. If it's full of oil, oil pressure. If engine coolant leaks out, coolant temperature sensor. I'm going to guess the latter. If the connector is fu^ked up, replacement connectors are available to be wired in, or a connector may be clipped of a wrecked vehicle.

Since it's a single wire sensor that's screwed into the block, I'd say also from its appearance that it's almost certainly the oil pressure gauge sending unit.

Ya it is oil pressure sensor. Some times you half to take a curved pick in get under connector tab on the back side and wigle pick at same time as you squeeze tab it should loosen then pull
