Bama tune causing engine to run lean.
Hello guys. I’m very new to this hole forum deal. I recently purchased a 2006 v6 mustang that came with a Bama tune. The car ran okay the first couple months I had it then I started getting lean codes. I have a spectre cold air intake I’ve heard iffy things about this company, but I’d like to get some other opinions hopefully from people who’ve had similar issues. I live in Colorado and have a 1500 mile trip to montana coming up and would like to have my lean issues solved before I head down there so I can make it safely. Thanks in advance. Hopefully I posted this in the correct place!!!
when did the lean issues start? Did you move to a new location, did you change fuel, did you add/remove something from the engine bay or fix anything? What octane are you running? What is the octane of the tune say you should run?
Since the car ran OK for a few months on the BAMA tune before the problems started, the culprit is unlike to be the tune.
It's possible you're getting unmetered air entering the intake manifold that the MAF sensor isn't seeing. The cause could be something as simple as the intake tube not sealing properly to the throttle body, or a vacuum leak.
