I think the conclusion is that the throttle body, with a tune, is a good improvement for the money.
Maybe in previous years. Not not for the S197 cars. There have been way too many people (including supporting vendors ) that have purchased aftermarket TBs and gone to the dyno and let their tuners work on the cars and only picking up 2 or 3 rwhp.
Bottom line, if you want a $500 piece of pretty billit hanging on the front of your motor, it is the thing to get. If you want to pay $165 per rwhp NOT INCLUDING A TUNE AND DYNO TIME...it is the thing to get. Otherwise, they are worthless. And yes, that includes on inducted systems also. Same results have happened on vehicles with SCs.

100% Correct, I can tell you for a fact this is what happend to me.

The Tuner was suprized because he has been working on mustangs for 20 years and this is the first year that a TB did not make a differance.
So I think the conclusion is (promustanperformance) that the throttle body, with a tune or without a one, is a waste of money.
If you just are looking for a little better throttle performance after your tune, then wait when the price for these things go to around 100 -150 bucks, then it might be worth it.

I am getting a BBK TB for Christmas from my Dad. He already ordered it, know it sounds like it will be no good. Hopefully that is not the case.

Hell, I wish ya luck in just getting one. They are supposed to be out in two weeks....Since last May!

And yes, unfortunately, that is going to be the case. Out of the three or four that are already on the market, I somehow doubt that BBK has found the magical potion to make it work when everyone else has not.

Hawgman, I noticed you have a metal intake tube. I was thinking of getting the C&L intake tube because it will fit with my JMS. What do you think, think it is worth it. My dad said he will also get me that or sean hyland underdrive pullies. Which should I get and what do you think of the intake tube regardless.

Personally, SHM is the exact reason I ended up with the Steeda/C&L hybrid of CAI that I own. That is the setup they used on their 365hp NA car that they had on their website. I asked why they didn't use the complete C&L setup, they said the Steeda CAI flowed better. I asked why they didn't use the stock intake tube, they said the C&L flowed better. So....I figured if it worked for them, I would give it a try. Obviously you can tell my my sig file that I am content with the setup.

As for the SHM UDPs, I personally do not know anyone that has them, so I cannot say yes or no for them. I think all in all that most UDPs are truly created equal. Why Saleen feels they can charge $600 when others charge 1/3rd that price I don't know. I can't see them being 3 times better. I have Steeda's on mine because that was what was out at the time. Once again, I am pleased with them.

I wish you luck too but I got mine quick from granatelli Motor Sports. I have been doing a lot of research on the 05 aftermarket TB and I have been finding that all the billit style TB are made by the same company, the MotoBlue, Granatelli, Central Coast Mustang, Take a look
pro mustang performance
central coast mustang
Granatelli Motor Sports

Engineers don't use magic potions to make this work, they engineer. BBK is clearly putting a lot more engineering into their throttle body for it to take this long.

Or, their results in the magazines for the prototypes advertising "10hp" or whatever are completely unfounded, and they are attempting to salvage the unit as best they can.
