I am still waiting on my 2006 GT ordered way back on 6/22 05! I am NOT A HAPPY CAMPER! I ordered my car from a local dealer in the Minneapolis metro area. Who can i call that actually has the power to override the alocation system? Thanks, Greg

Good luck...I know your frustration because I waited 8.5 months for my car because of the whole allocation issue. Phone calls didn't do a bit of good.

However, you may want to start writing to Ford. Seemed to make a difference for me.

Did you get a VIN yet? Have you been tracking it on the Blue Oval Forum?

Can you cancel your order? If so, you may be able to find what you are looking for. My dealer has about 10 Mustangs, when I ordered 6 months ago he had 1.

Find the car you want from another dealership who has it in stock and buy it...

Then cancel your order from the first dealership...

I canceled my order from my first dealership when you couldn't get the "my color" instrument option...

I find the car at another dealership and bought it with my options the very next week...

Done...

Thanks for the replys. The salesman is a friend of mine and is willing to pass the sale of my current GT through the dealership for a state tax savings of $1760 for me. That makes it virtually certain i will wait for the one ordered, even if I have to wait and get an 07!! I am under the assumption that at that point i go to the head of the line for a biuld date depending on order date of 06 mustangs, which should put me about second!! I haven't heard of anyone waiting this long, but they may have. I check the price and build page all the time and search for one like the one i ordered, but have gotten darn stubborn and want it EXACTLY the way I want It!!!
My order is as follows;
Vista blue GT premium 5 spd manual, Interior upgrade, locking lugs, Medium parchment interior, and the 64W wheels, late availability 18 inch polished wheels that look like Crager SS rims. I have the Redfire GT to drive in the mean time, and it is a blast. Just want to get EXACTLY what i want for a change, after waiting 36 years to finally get a new mustang! I first wanted one while in the service in 69, but couldn't afford what i wanted.
