How many hours to put a Vortech in?

Hi,

My dealer is saying it will take up to 24 hours of labor to install my Vortech with aftercooler.

Does this make sense?

12 if you have the right equipment and the skills. Cigarette and beer breaks not included.

Mine took 16, but it was the shops first '05 Vortec install. Vortec calls for 12 to 14.

mauiboy, did you change out the whole hood for that scoop? Where did you get it?

It's the GTR Ram-air hood from RKsport.

It dumps the forced air right over the top of the air box.

24 hours? Yikes!! Let see, at my dealer price of 79 bucks an hour thats $1896...not including taxes.

I was quoted 13 hours for a Saleen Supercharger install from the ford dealer.

MY dealer is also a Saleen rep. He quoted the saleen S/C 14 hours without the cooler.
He's charging me 65$CDN (+- 57$US) an hour.

I guess the Vortech is a bit more work...
