Default totally agree

i have the base steering wheel and i've had it since 2005. the top is starting to wear away and feels terrible. my friend has a cheaper package that came with a leather steering wheel and the feel of it is so nice. not to mention if you keep the leather treated, it'll last a lifetime, but that rubber thing will wear away and there's nothing we can do about it. you can get the leather premium one for like $500 off fordparts.com. there's also this company that takes the original steering wheels but changes the wheel part so that it's multicolored, leather, and squared off like a racing style. those are like 500 too though, but they look pretty sweet.

Did you ever install that wheel that wrxfied sold to you. I want to do the same thing! How did it it go and did the extra cost a lot and did you find a wire them to make them work like the volume control?

I did install the wheel that wrxfied sold me. I've ordered the buttons and the covers.
The installation was done by the dealer. The wires were ready to be plugged but since the car came with the base steering wheel with no buttons for the radio, it doesn't work...
The mechanic try to switch it on. It never works. He told me that the only thing he could try was to reset then reprogram the whole car.
That it can take many hours and nothing's sure that it will work. Even worse, it can mess things up...
So, screw the radio controls, I have my premium leather steering wheel! And I'm happy with it.
Looks and feel way better.
