intake question
i am going to get a 351w from a guy. It is ready to drop in except the intake. My car right now is fuel injected so to use the carb intake he has on it right now i would have to do some modding to my gas delivery and such, right? one of my thoughts was to get it for cheaper without his intake and use my efi stuff. but dont you have to replace the lower maniflod? if so what is a good manifold for a 351w fuel injected?
The lower intake won't bolt up so you'll need a new lower, but keep you're upper as for it will bolt up to the lower and save you $$$ and time.
Depending on what you're upper intake is will detemine what you should run for a lower.

What 351w lower intakes will bolt up to a 5.0 HO upper?
I have looked at a couple 351w lowers and none of them had similar port patterns to the 5.0 HO upper.
What applications of 351w would work for this?

No 351w lower will bolt to a stock 5.0 HO upper. If you are planning on building it for good power a depemdablility and not all out racing then you could use a Lightning upper and lower intake. If you plan on racing or going with an aggressive cam and some more mods then go with either a trcik flow or an edelbrock. I think pro products also make a nice copy of the edelbrock.

I have been using a Lightning lower and Comp Cams Polymer upper for several years now. I like the combo, but I have no dyno numbers.

Do you have any desire to get the intake to clear the stock hood?
