Hi, Although I prefer Motorcraft which is part syth. Everyone has there own opinion. I suppose as long as your engine doesn't blow you'll say the oil is good. I will tell you of my drag racing days. Long ago I raced muscle cars and motorcycles. With my old 750 Honda in the 70's it had a seperate oil tank which was easy to see the oil. I decided to do oilbrand testsonce I saw foam (bubbles) on top of the oil at the end of the strip. Long story short ValvolineRacing was the only oil that right after a 13 second run at 7500rpm shifts didn't have any bubbles on top of the oil.I stuck with Valvoline since with all the musclecars I owned with no problems. Now with my last fewcars being Mustangs I stuckwith Motorcraft because Ihad a ticking problem occure when I changed to another brand (yellow container)only because they were out of Valvoline. I drained out that oil in a couple days back to Motorcraft and no more ticking. So it's up to you. Beware of the companies saying 10000-15000 miles. Sure the full sythn there selling might handle it but the filters will clog way before then. I'm the every 3000 mile guy because in my opinion why play games with your motor. For the $35 it costs every few months it's worth it.

I work for a parent company of Fram and I can tell you they have been using the same media materials for years. At one time they were first rate but I think they have let technology pass them by. The extra guard does use an additional material added to the media which is better so if you want a Fram at least get the upscale version...it is worth the extra money.I personally am partial to Mobil one and sometimes Bosch filters and I stick to full synthetic oil (Castrol Syntec)...I have used it in 3 different cars now with the oldest having over 220k on the clock. I have yet to purchase my Stang but I can tell you it will get the same or better treatment.

I use Mobil one and mobil one filters.I went from 14.9(motorcraft synth blend)to 14.6 doing that and changing the oil filter and a the alt pulley (this was before other mods) I can't say the oil did it alone but it definatly gave an improvement. I put a shallow pan under the oil filter when I take it out. I also drain the oil out of the pan first and remove the oil filler cap. No problem with a mess, make sure you get the old filter rubber gasket off, take time to check!

TAKE TIME TO CHECK. Best advice there is. I was in a hurry once, didn't double check and I soon had $25 of oil in my driveway! Always, always, always check to make sure the gasket came off. Taking the filler cap and the dipstick out helps with pressure and oil drain speed. Ever since I've owned a car, I've changed the oil. Good luck and don't forget to lay down newspapers or cardboard or something. Oil drip is un-avoidable.
