Default Question about auto shift lag

I have a 2005 auto convertible, when I accelerate there is some lag before it takes off. Is there a way to tune my transmission to shift gears quicker? (Quicker up shift with less throttle) I am just a girl and I don’t know much about cars but………when I speed up while pushing on the gas, I want it to switch gears faster with less lag when under normal acceleration/slightly aggressive acceleration. I am not looking to race just to pass……….Has anyone else experienced this? I’ve done a search but I have not found them to be relevant to my concern.
Thanks for your help.

my best advice would be to get a cold air intake and tuner package from somewhere like b@m@chips.com (replace @ with a). The tune you get in the package for your car will firm up your shifts and increase throttle response. Overall, you should get about a 20 horse gain as well. downside is they cost about $500-600. The car will feel like it's been unleashed though. Definitely worth the money.

if you can keep your foot out of it I get a little better gas mileage with my intake and tune than I did without it, not sure if this is the case for everyone though.

Call Justine at vmptuning.com(321-206-9369)and ask about his Xcal2 or 3 flashtuner & cai intake, $485.00. Get a GT takeoff or performance muffler and you have just picked up 25 hp. This WILL get rid of that dangerous lag,get firmer shifts, better response and improved highway gas mileage. I got 29.1 mpg on a trip last summer(406miles-13.953 gals. of gas). The tune and cai intakewill bevery easy for you to install, the muffler is a little harder but you can have someone do it for you. Turns your Mustang into a different car. GOOD LUCK!!

A tune will fix that shift for sure. You can adjust the shift pressure (quicker & firmer)and the wide open throttle mph shift point for each shift. Plus, you can adjust a lot of other stuff as well.
