You musta got a Canadian model.
99.9% of the US models dont have DRLs.
Those that dont have it want it and those with it dont want it.
Go fricken figure.
Trade your S197 for someone without DRLs that wants them.
Or enjoy the increased safety and live with it.

Or ground the e-brake switch wire at the SJB.
Canadian model? Really? Mine is a US model and has DRL...and I neither have to utilize the e-brake nor do I complain about having them...I like my DRLs especially in crappy OH weather. But in the case that my car is in the .01% minority, that makes it very spay-shul indeed!! LOL!

Nope, the SJB wantS to see the headlight filiment resistance
when the DRLs are on or it will start a 'bulb burned out" routine
in the SJB. Bad idea on the ground wire as there are two of them
and the long run up to the dash for the switch will cause all sorts
of voltage drops and dim headlights.
Not to mention the poor next owner with the hacked up headlight wiring.
