Cooling issue (again)
I've been through this dance a couple times within the past year. On the way home from Atlanta today I got stuck in traffic in the car overheated. Or began to over heat the needle went all the way into the hot side. Ive replaced the coolant temperature sensor three times this summer. The main symptom is the cooling fan will stop. Once I replace the sensor the fan will kick back on. I replaced the thermostat, the sensors and the coolant this year. I have no idea what could be causing the sensors to keep going bad. Any idea of what I should check next?
the fan is working perfect, I even switched to a new one and it still is happening. The relays all check out perfectly as do any fuses. Could it be something with the AC system. I know that both systems control the cooling fan. A friend mentioned on his Chevy there was a AC sensor that was going bad and it caused a over heating problem.

How do you know the sensors are actually bad? Have you tested them when you pulled them out before just replacing them?
If you get a new one (or even take out your existing one) and get a resistance on it at room temp (Off), then stick the end of it in boiling water and get a resistance on it (On) you should be able to tell if the sensor is actually bad.
The fact that the fan works for a short while before it stops again could be something else going on that is either causing the sensors to fail (if they are actually failing) or something else that make it seem like that is the cause (close to broken wire). Heat increases resistance and sine the coolant temp sensor works on resistance, if something in wires is causing more resistance than usual, it might seem mimic a bad sensor.

I kept telling myself it had to be something simple and not to think too hard, The old K.I.S.S. method. Keep It Simple Stupid!! I found a loose connector and with a strategically placed Zip-Tie it is working. I will keep a eye on it for the next week or so and make sure it fixes the issue.
