Loose sheet metal plate behind front rotor

Loose sheet metal plate behind front rotor
how in the world do I tighten the plate (made of steel sheet metal) located directly behind the rotor on my front wheel? It vibrates when I close my door and annoys the living hell outta me. I got under there and it just looked like it was riveted but a little loose or something. anyone know how to tighten one of these things or if it's possible to tighten one?

RE: Loose sheet metal plate behind front rotor
Agh I was just back there a week or so ago, I don't remember how it was fastened. When I get my digital camera back (it got left in a rental vehicle that got returned), I'll look on the pictures, it should be tomorrow. The rear plates are attached by three small screws which could probably use some loc-tite for the future. For the rear, you need to take the rotor off to get to them. If you need a write-up on it, I'll be doing the rear brakes when it gets warmer (about a week hopefully) and I'll finish that up and post it here somewhere. The whole thing is pretty simple though. If I remember right, you'll need a 15mm socket, a breaker bar, and a lot of patience to get the caliper off. The rotor should be attached by little screw on clip things (mine did not have any on the passenger side, and only one out of five on the driver's side... meaning my poor stang has had major brake work with the last owner). I just cut the clip off and the rotor slides right off over the lugs. But again I'm not positive right now how the front plates are attached.

Well like I said that is just for the rear, the bolts are behind the rotor right near the axle, they screw in to the damn caliper mounting bracket... I don't remember how it was for the front though... I don't remember seeing any screws, but I wasn't looking either because fronts didn't come with new plates.

i thik they are rivets but im not sure and its a heat/dust shield not really that much use for it, when you get larger breaks you remove it so if you want you can just take it off
