Default heads?

I have a 96gt....and was wondering if it was possible just to take the heads off a 99 gt and swap them.....or possibly a ford truck if they had the same heads?

I believe the P.I. heads would need the P.I. intake and the correct calibration for PCM (computer). I would do some serious research before beginning that project. I know for sure you dont want anything except mustang engine parts (no trucks etc) mustang engines rev higher, have the most power, hottest cams, ect.

Yes it is possible, but they use different valve covers than your 96 does. If you do the swap, be sure to get the valve covers as well. The 2001 heads use the same valve covers as your 96 does though. From 99 to 2000, the heads were called windsor heads, and 2001 I believe, they were switched over to the Romeo heads. Both are the PI design, they just used different valve covers. I am doing this swap as well on my 98GT. I went with the Stage 1 kit from Modularracing.com. Very nice set up. I plan on adding nitrous to it later this year. Good luck

This thread is for people who want to put a PI intake on NPI heads. The parts are the same except for the intake gaskets. Don't forget the head gaskets too.
