I love my K&N FIPK II. I had a Mac Fender CAI and I didn't really like it. Yea it was shiny and chrome and it looked bad ***.... But I noticed a difference with the K&N, mainly in my throttle response. It was so slight but it was still noticeable. And it was a hell of alot easier to maintain.

The fenderwell type is going to suck in cooler air, thus theoretically more hp. How much more? I couldn't see more than 2hp.

wrong... CAI has one more bend in it then a RAI, thus creating more resistance equalling less gains!
JTL RAI for the win again!

W/ the longer tubing of a CAI, it will ONLY increase your TOP END airflow.. It will do nothing, maybe even hurt your low end torque, along w/ throttle response... Common sense... The longer it takes for the air to get in the engine, the less effective that cold air is...

Take it as you want.. I'd rather have a RAI, and race it w/ the headlight removed.. The best of both worlds..

I dont understand. Whats the point of making the CAI if the RAI is that much better. And how come there are so many CAI's on the market and only like 1 or 2 RAI. All saleen and roush have CAI, are they wrong too?

The fenderwall intakes also can suck up water from the wheel well.

ur car should have a big plastic flap already there to prevent it. ur really not going to see much difference either way, but i would put the heat sheild on the JLT. the JLT will have a better install too, cuz its kind of a b*tch gettin that filter clamp screwed in through the fender well..... just irritating [:@]

Thos cars you spoke of, are also making a butt-load more power than a GT... It really comes down to preference. There is negligible difference, that you'll see w/ a CAI/RAI.

Sure, a RAI may get a little warmer anyway, but I just don't see a major intake temp difference on a N/A, between a RAI/CAI. In fact, I have a theory/design for a CRAI, that utilizes a RAM Air Hood...

Just like shorty headers, the power will be seen more at the top, and will probably drop off a little bit on the bottom end..
