Default transmission question

Hi,

I'm experiencing a loud clicking noise (kind of sounds like a lawnmower) while driving. The noise seems to be most prominent in 2nd and 3rd gear but I've noticed it in 1st also and am pretty sure it occurs in 4th and 5th as well and I just can't hear it.

The noise stops whenever I depress the clutch and occurs in all gears, so I'm pretty sure it has to do with the transmission, but am not sure what is causing it.

I drive a 97 Cobra. Stock

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

throwout bearing is more of a whining noise and would occur when stopped and not in gear also. (had one of those already) this is more of clicking noise that speeds up as the revs increase.

lol. My dads 97 Cobra made a ticking noise that increased with speed and it was the head.
