Default Horse Power bands/best shift points for an 03 GT

I have an 03 GT 5 spd that is fairly stock, all i have on it is a magnaflow magnapak cat back and a knn filter. So its horse power ratings are pretty close to stock. I'm thinkin about getting that new autometer digital shift light, and i need to know the best shift points.

You start to really feel it at 4K. I think the limiter kicks in a 6K, so set it for 5850-5900. That will put you square back in the 4K range.

Feel free to make corrections if I'm wrong guys!

Sorry to sorta hijack the thread but what about for a 98 GT, around the same.

That is an excellent suggestion for shift points. According to the gear calculator, that will yield you the best results.

Jay, I honestly don't have experience with NPI motors, but the theory is sound either way.

Check out the Gear Calculator and that will help you determine at what speed you should shift at to achieve best results. You want to have the car around 3500-4000 after your shift to maximize power. Gear Calculator
