Default throttle body/plenum

I'm interested in getting some opinions please. I'm going to upgrade the throttle body and plenum on my 04 Mustang GT. I already have Steeda UDP, Steeda CAI, and Magnaflow catbacks. I can go with the 75mm, or for $200 less, I can get slightly used (about 1000 miles) 70mm and use the $200 savings to have a short-throw shifter put in also. So, the question is, which way would you guys go. Would you go with the 70mm and save $200 and possibly use the savings for a short-throw shifter or would you spend the extra $200 for the 75mm? It's my everyday car and I don't use it for racing so a few extra hp isn't critical. I probably just answered my own question but I'm interested in your opinions. Thanks guys!

I've heard people say 75 was too big, and then others say it was fine... so what is it?

There is a perfomance gain to be had by going to a 75mm T/B.It's worth about 2-3 hp over the 70mm unit.If you are going with bolt on's only I would spend the money on the 75mm T/B myself.Every gain,no matter how small, adds up in a bolt-on car or any car for that matter.
I would get a short throw shifter before I did anything else.A missed shift will add more time to a 1/4 mile than the benefits of a bigger throttle body can take away.
[:@]The embarrasment of a missed shift lives forever.[:@]

I went with the Accufab plenum simply because an independent test showed it cranked out the highest overall increase in HP/torque. Between the plenum and the throttle body, the plenum will net you more gains so either the 70mm or 75mm would be fine. Accufab really only needs the 70mm while some others do better with the 75mm. On the Accufab plenum the 75m only netted 1 to 3 more HP which is almost meaningless. If you plan on going with a larger injector size and compatible MAF, then 75mm may make a whole lot more sense. Either way your Stang will run fine. Most overall gains can be felt with a complete change of the CAI, TB and plenum together. Any one without the others just doen't make it. My 70mm TB didn't really come alive until I added the Accufab plenum, then the BBK in-fender CAI. System works well together. My 70mm TB is the Ford Racing unit that comes complete with all new sensors already attached. Any others on the market you will have to cannibalize your old unit and transfer the sensors over to your new TB. I simply preferred not to do this and get a "completely" new unit instead. Good luck with your ride!
