Quick question
Why do some people get bigger tires in the front compared to the back?
For example on 18's get 255/45/18 front and rear 285/40/18.
Why go with the 40 in the rear isn;t that gonna make the front look higher? I would think you want the rear looking higher?

RE: Quick question
i have 255/45/17s up front and 275/40/17s out back becuase thats just how they make them. They dont make a 255/40 or a 275/45. Atleast not that i could find. The difference is only fractions of centimeters. Its like 2 millimeters or something when you work it all out. Look at the pics of my stang in the "colorado in the fall" pics. Can you tell the difference?

RE: Quick question
Yea man the difference between a 45 tire and a 40 tire is so minute you cant even realize it. Plus, like he said, they only make em like that. But its all about tread width and the wider meats only come in like certain tires, and they dont make the 45 but a 40 instead just because the tire is so wide.

RE: Quick question
wowowowowowowowowow....... i belive that yall are wrong. but i guess i could be. 275 is the with the 40 is a % therefore being 45% of the tire width. therefore with a 315 being a bigger width then it would be a smaller % such as 35. so that makes them the same highth
275=width
40=high
17=rim size
275=width
40=high
17=rim size
