problems with my 3rd gear
I recentaly installed my steeda tri ax short throw shifter on my 2001 mustang GT with a 5 speed TR 3650 trans. I set the bolts how they are supposed to be wiht the air gap and all that, but the first time I went and got on it and went to throw it in 3rd it didnt ingage the gear what so ever. it was like the car was in nuetral. Ive heard from people it could be my forks, synchros (spelling on that), or just a adjustment problem, the car goes through eveyr gear peferctaly when im driving normal....do any of u have any sugestions of what it might be, and possibly a price to get it fixed and such.
Thanks

I had a similar problem with my 5.0 shifter. Sometimes it would come out of first and when cold if would not go into third. I had to adjust the stop bolts to give the shift a little more slack. I also had a small screw fall into the clear grease inside the shifter and did not notice it when reinstalling it. Just make absolutely certain nothing fell into the shifter before readjusting your stop bolts.
you have a 3650 that has internal stops. you do not need to set your stop bolts. take them off and see if that helps. thats what it sounds like. also did you put the plastic cap back on on the shifter? and is everything tight?
