YEEHAAWW!! I just placed my order for my MGW for T5/T45. I used UPS 2 day air mail, should be here soon. Ended up costing me $200. Not bad if ya ask me. Can't wait 'till it arrives!!! I'm doin my first SeaFoam treatment today as well.

Can I buy the shifter gasket from an autoparts store? I'm heading over to Pep Boy's to return something today. I could pick one up there?

Hmm... doubt it since they aren't a factory part. Get one here: http://www.stangshiftergaskets.com/ I'd suggest the gasket as well. I prefer to fill my transmission from the top so it's nice to be able to yank it off and throw it back on without any trouble. It's a cleaner and faster install too.

Edit: I walked off halfway through my message and got beaten!

Gotcha. Just ordered the gasket too. So is that basically all I need for installation? Does it come with instructions? I'm sure it does, just wondering. Thanks.

I got my MGW in today, and after about 15 minutes of installation, I decided to take it for a little spin.

I LOVE THIS SHIFTER!!!!!

I have never enjoyed driving a stick so much, because it is so much smoother to shift, and I do not have to worry about driving the shaft in too deep when making my shifts. And, with this shifter, I don't think I will ever miss a shift!

I also like the fact that I can fine-tune the direction of the shift handle where it is most comfortable for me.

Thank you too all of you who have posted positive comments on this particular shifter in this forum, because you helped pick me a winner!

Seen so many nightmare installation threads for afttermarket shifters on this forum. So, the question is do you use the stops they provide w/ the shifter or use the factory? I've heard some conflicting views on this.

I definitely used the stops, and had no problems whatsoever putting it in gear. With the MGW, it was very easy to set the stops and lock them into place. If I remember correctly though, you only use the stops on the T5/T-45.

With the stock shifter (And clutch in dire need of replacement) I had too much play when shifting, as did the previous owner, and when the tranny was slammed into gear it was going too far. Hell, I was banging my hand on the radio trying to get it into gear with the stock shifter, and now I only have to move 2 inches to shift from gear2gear.

Totally agree with reeves, I just got put mine in and I used the stops. They were very simple to put in, and safe sincethe T5/T45 doesn't come with stops. Only the T3650 and the T56 come with factory stops.

Thanks to you guys for recommending it to me, and I'll do the same to any Mustang guy I know.
