Default Head install

Well heres the scoop. As you all know im trying to sell my car and as you all know i just threw a plug. Well guess what the worst happened and i need a new head. Not only that the cam is f'd up too on that side so i need new heads and cams. Its not that much more expensive to get aftermarket heads and cams so i might just go that route. Im am fairly mechanically inclined. I know how to rip apart a motor and put it back together and i do most of my own work. How hard is it to do a head swap on a 2v 4.6? Is it something that i can do or do i really need to have a shop do it. How many of you have done a head/cam swap and what results did you get? So it looks like i might have to hold on to this tired old grey pony for a while. Oh well. Thats the luck of the irish for ya!

Its actually not that hard to change out a head. You can find a used head on ebay for cheap and pi cams. All you need is one head and they are interchangeable so its easy to find one. To swap the head just pull the intake, timing cover, manifold, chains then the head. Reinstall in reverse order. It may take half a day going slow. Dont forget to use new gaskest.

Yeah thats what i thought. Im probably going to seriously go with patriot stage 2 heads and a set of comp cams though. Just becuase now im going to have to keep this god forsaken car so might as well spend a few dollars more and go big.
