Well the general rule is
X pipe goes with straight through mufflers
H pipe goes with chambered.
Honestly there is not much difference in between X and H... Maybe offroad pipe is not for you.

I changed to a BBK o/r x-pipe w/my stock exhaust and it was too raspy and got annoyingly loud at 75mphfor my 2 hrs. drive every few weeks so right now I have the stock h back on there and it sounds way better. I can actually talk to someone in the car w/o having to strain my voice at all. I'm going with an h-pipe (probably mac).

I just got my Mac offroad H pipe installed. i already had american thunder 40 series flowmasters, and a mac intake with a k&n filter on it. This is EXACTLY the muscle car rumble i wanted. Its better than what i expected actually. But let me say this. Installation was a pain in the A$$. I wont lie, i had a shop do it for me after three days of trying to take the stock H off with a floor jack. Not enough room, and passenger side is the biggest problem. With a lift, it would have been a peice of cake.

i have had a bbk o/r x-pipe with a bassini cat back for a year now and i love it.. its really loud and it stil has the mustang sound. its a little raspy when i let off the throttle in higher RPMs but it still sounds nice... it actually sounds faster than it is and that tends to get me in trouble...

To the creator of this post and all others who agree... What the hell is wrong with you? I mean i can see you sayin its too raspy or whatever but to say it sounds like a ricer is just retarded. Just out of curiosity have you listened to any honda's with fart cans lately? They sound NOTHING like mustangs. You just completely insulted your car by saying this. I have have flows with an O/R X and the last thing i thought when i heard the noise was... gee this sure does sound ricer!
