The narrow band a/f gauge doesn't do anything. It has colors that just go around and around and don't tell you anything. With the wideband if you tap into the wire then you will get a correct a/f.
They are pricey but worth it.

they do work, i have one, yes it is a light show at first it bounces back b/t lean and rich but it is only suppose to work at wot the a/f will stop wherever the comp is set, that is how you tune with them. You hook it up to pin 60 i believe i would call autometer and confirm, not hard to do. I will be getting a wideband soon, waiting on the tax money, but until then with the diable data logging and the a/f gauge i have been able to tune.

I just installed mine a couple of months ago, you don't need a new sensor at all. It comes with everything you need except the stuff to tap into the wire. And yes it is pin 60, it's super easy. And yes again the only time it reads accurately is at WOT.

+one. wideband kits do come with everything needed, including the sensor that has to be put in your exhaust. as far as monitoring both banks you would need two gauges and two sensors etc. i have seen set ups that used two sensors and one gauge, you would flip a switch to toggle between the two banks.

i got the lightshow narrow band a/f, i was considering the wideband but the fuel pressure was sufficient for me because i trust the tune i have for the nitrous so i only have to worry about the fuel pressure. the narrowband looks cool and does go to richwhenever you gun it. easy hook up thorough the pcm, and yes its the red wire w/black stripe.

well depends on what you want.. ill will be using a narrow band because it matches my current gauges.. a wideband will do nothing for you if your are not tuning the car yourself... your dyno tuner will use his own AF to write the tune... the fuel pressure gauge is what is going to save you if there is a problem (if you can react fast enough) and the narrow offers a small amount of cheap insurance... dont get me wrong the wideband is better.. but watching the lights dance around is not going to help you
