Default Brake lights won't come on!!

I figured out my brake lights were not coming on today ( and i'm not sure how long they have been out). The funny thing isthat my running lights and turn signal are still working (even with the running lights on). Its just went I hit the brakes, they do not come on. I'm taking it to the dealer tomorrow morning. I think it is the break switch. anyone else ever have this problem?... what do you guys think?

Ready for this??????????????????????? It's your brake sensor that's attatched to your brake pedal under your dash. It costs like $15 easy fix besides breakin your back gettin to the damn thing

i would not say an easy install unless you have ever small hands and are flexible

It is for me, I just lay upside down over the seat with it reclined or work from the outside ground. I can change one in 5 minutes!

+1 ......most probable cause. If thats not it, I suggest you get a test light and check your fuses. I am not familiar if Stangs have a separate fuse just for the brake lights and its too late to go look at mine now. But your 99% problem should be your switch at the brake pedal. Simple test....jump the wires on the switch and see if brake lights come on....if they do then just replace the switch.

Yeah it's the sensor. Theres also a sensor on the clutch pedal that requires you to disengage the clutch before turning on the motor, so if you take it off, you can start the car with your left foot free!

I tell ya...you learn sooo much from building a car from scratch! I love it...

I took it to the dealer this morning, and it was the brake sensor. But cost me nothing, still under warranty.
