doesnt hurt anything when done right
yea...your full of sh*t. are you going to sit there and tell me that slamming gears and dumping the clutch without letting off the throttle wont hurt anything?? keep thinking that buddy...

...noob
im not "slamming my gears", quick shifting and slamming are two different things.. dumping the clutch.... not really you shouldnt be riding the clutch in 2nd, 3 or 4 th anyway. Your not putting anymore or less power down by powershifting.. your just not letting the motor drop as many rpms... powershifting will not hurt anything... esp Na and bolt ons... its not any harder on the syrchros or tranny, thats about 90% BS your still putting down the same power and the synchros have to speed up just the same on a quick shift as they do a power shift. Try powershifting before you say im full of ****. Downshifting it to hard it what really fugs up synchros not upshifts.
Powershifting is definatly harder on every single componet of the drivetrain. (and the engine) You are letting the RPMs acutally rise between shifts and then dumping the clutch. The clutch slips some, jerks the car forward on the shift, and puts massive strain on the drivetrain. Instead of having to deal with you getting back on the throttle, the clutch/trans/rearend acutally has to fight the car at WOT back down to the next gear's correct RPM.

Not to mention that the syncros on the 45 (and to a lesser extent the 3650) are weak junk. Even speedshifting will start to cause problems.

Both of my T-45s were destroyed by powershifting/speed shifting. It starts with a small grind going into 3rd when doing it, progresses to a small grind every once in a while during normal driving, and then one day you powershift again and it wont go in, you miss the gear, and its story over. From that point on, the trans IS gonna break no matter how you treat it.

I will do this every once in a GREAT while with the TKO, but I would never do it again with a stock stang trans. I am a very experenced stick driver(most of my DD cars have been a stick, plus owning the mustang for 4+ years) so its not me... the stock tranmissions just suck.

speed shifting is not really much different from normal shifting, i hate when ppl say it ruins your car, false, improperly done it does but its because ppl cant drive and try things they shouldn't if you have an aftermarket sport shifter you should be fine just take the time to learn it and dont be stupid. it def gives u an advantage if you know what you're doing. yes its worth it to learn
i think its obvious that shock loading any drivetrain KILLS IT.

daily driven mustang, loves winter driving. stock t-45 with 81000 miles, power/speed shifted and slammed every day, totally abused. and that guy was saying i shift wrong? i got 81000 miles out of a trans beating the **** out it. that thing should have gone bad 30000 miles ago. come drive with me and then talk ****. NO GRINDING. (yes i know i beat the living sh*t out of it)
