I have an auto 2002 GT and it seems to shift pretty hard when I gun it. It almost shifts so hard I loss control. Is this normal because I am new to the mustang or even sports car world?

Every once and a while it down shifts hard as well. Whats the problem?

U mite have a shift kit installed.

hey man mine shifts really hard to... does it shift hard going into second? that is when i really notice mine and i am pretty much bone stock. so i hope i helped ya some.

when you get on it it's supposed to shift hard, my does it too...you dont realize how hard it shifts from 1st to 2nd unless you're turned ever-so slightly, then you can acutally lose...dont do it in the rain its freaking crazy...shifting hard while downshifting is a bad sign...does it only do it when you're just letting off the gas...i mean say you catch it at the right time and it was just at the downshift point right when you let off the gas? cuz if so thats normal in any auto....what im saying is really hard to describe though, sorry lol

Well yea when I gun it it shifts hard going into second I think, Never drove a stick, but I am pretty sure it is when it goes into second. But the down shift is weird its hard to explain I know but it is right when I let off the gas. So then nothings wrong with it because I just bought it about two or three months ago.

Oh yea sorry my is straight stock as well. All my money going into paying it off you know how it goes.

yeah its normal but iv never almost went out of control nothing close. Mine only breaks loose a little bit in first from a dig and when shifting into second it spins them and thats the only time that its really a hard shift. Going into third its hard but not to the point of spining them. Mine also gets into second at around 30-40 so that also causes a hard shift.
