Default PI Intake

I still have non-PI heads on my car and have a PI intake in my garage. I have heard about a spacer that you can use to put the PI intake on my non-PI heads. Is there any truth to this and where can I find this spacer. Any idea on what one cost too. I have a ported and polished stock plenum and new TB I am puting on and would like to do the intake at the same time since the intake is the bottle neck of the non-PI head set up. Any info would be great.

That price is a rip off. You can do a complete head and intake swap for about that much money. The hood clearance issue may pose a problem though because the spacers will raise the intake slightly, which is why they modify theirs. I don't know, if you are willing to spend that much money on just the intake, it's a waste IMO. If you're going to spend that much, do the heads also, because they are a bottleneck as well, not just the intake.

you don't "need" spacers, it can be made to work without them but maybe not as well since the ports won't line right up.

I actually saw an article where a shop had done that and they still picked up about 15 horses and 15-20 ft. lbs. over stock, regardless of the misaligned ports. I sure wouldn't spend $600+ on just the intake though, unless it was a Bullitt.

Was that swap in a magazine article or just word of mouth. I would like to read something like that to see how it all goes. I know that I can change the intake out. Just don't want to screw anything up while I am doing it. I would also like to see if there really is a increase even though the mismatching ports. I didn't know that I could just change them out and it would work. But yea for 600 bucks I could almost change the heads out. I already have ported and polished PI heads and matching intake just don't have the cash onhand to do the swap. When I do the swap I am going to get blower cams and do it all right the first time. I was going to wait till I go to school at Wyo Tech and do it all myself. Just looking to get a few more horses out of my baby till then.

They had an article about it in MM&FF a while ago... They picked up like 27rwhp from it. With using the adapter plates that is.
