My dad has a 2002 mercury grand marquis and the engine seized up so now he needs a new engine. I have heard that a mustang engine will work in the grand marquis. What is the actual name of the mustang engine? (For example a toyota supra engine is a 2jz-gte.) What other car engines will work? How much will it cost? Can a cobra engine fit? I also heard that a mustang ft engine is also in f-150, town cars, expeditions, navigators, crown vics, and marauders. Thanks.

Well yes and no. It will fit in your dads car. But I don't know what it is called. A cobra engine should also fit. Now with the cars you named. In order, not really 5.4L v8, dunno, yes but mostly 5.4, Yes mosty 5.4, i think so, and yes but better engine. BTW welcome to the forums.
