Default Steeda Timing adjuster. vs tuner adjust

Iver had my timing adjuster sitting around my house for a bit and have been debating which tuner to get. Can i go ahead and install my steeda timing adjuster without it being in the way of a tuner? When I do finally tune my car for the first time will I need to skip the part that allows you to adjust your timing and just do it manually with my steeda TA?

At this point, you are a perfect candidate for a Pro M MAF tuner. That product in conjunction with the Steeda timing adjuster is a perfect tuning setup. Those 2 products are exactly what I used to get 550 mrwhp out of my E car. The Maf tuner is under 300$. From that point on, you can tune as you add mods all you like, and you'll have instant control of timing and a/f ratio all the time.

If you are sure about getting a tuner, I'd hold off on the mechanical TA. The timing adjustment from a tuner is applied to WOT and you can set it smaller increments and you have more flexibility. 2k-4k RPM and 4k-7k RPM bands. The mechanical adjuster adds a constant offset at all RPMs. One size doesn't always fit all.

Nah... a tuner only allows you to bump it two degrees either way. I would ust the TA if I were you. Very easy to install and operate. Not to mention that if you get NOS you will definetly need it unless you get dyno tuned and chipped.

The DiabloSport Predator lets you add 10% or subtract up to 40% of the timing value. It is not done in degrees, nor in a global sense. Look at a typical timing table. Setting the Predator to "+10" would increase each of the spark advance values by 10%. Seeing that the spark advance can be as high as 38 degrees, the increase would be 3.8 degrees.

This method adds the advance proportionally across the board. 3 degrees would be bumped up to 3.3. 10 degrees would be bumped up to 11. 20 degrees would be bumped up to 22, and so on. With a mechanical adjuster, you add a constant value across the board. A tuner applies a gain. A mechanical adjuster adds a bias.
